LITTLE LABYRINTH

House paint on MDF - 195 x 330mm

For borer, wood is the centre of all life, being their home and their only food source. Their lives are lived almost entirely inside wood, unseen by the human eye. Aside from the tiny galleries they leave behind in the wood as traces of their existence.

Little Labyrinth brings everyday life into art through magnifying the patterns created by borer in wood as they search for nourishment and shelter; celebrating the movements of life and survival as a transformative and creative process.

This work was created for OFFCUT group exhibition and art swap at Comet Project Space and therefore not available for purchase.
